Sign up to become a gsKidz Fall Ministry Partner through September 2017 through January 2018. Below describes what we are looking for and expect from our Ministry Partners in our gsKidz Ministry. Thank you in advance for considering to join our gsKidz team.

Early Childhood Team

BUMBLEBEES (Infant Nursery)

Team Member Characteristics: Loving, gentle, compassionate, playful
Team Member Description: Engage parents of our infant/toddler age children with a warm welcome and caring environment. Using the provided curriculum: Care for each baby’s spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. Pray for baby, cuddle and sooth, feed (if needed), change diapers, play with, take strolls to calm baby, rock/bounce, sing over, and ensure safe play.

FIREFLIES (1 year olds)

Team Member Characteristics: Loving, patient, playful, mobile
Team Member Description: Engage parents with a warm welcome and caring environment. Using the provided curriculum: Care for each child’s spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. Pray for children, change diapers, facilitate safe play time/activities/projects, administer snack, play with/read to, take strolls, hold, sing over, and teach bible stories, VALUE of the day, and lesson material.\

CRICKETS & GRASSHOPPERS (2’s and 3’s)

Team Member Characteristics: Loving, energetic, mobile, leader
Team Member Description: Engage parents with a warm welcome and caring environment. Using the provided curriculum: Care for each child’s spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. Pray for children, change diapers/assist with ‘potty training’, facilitate safe play time/activities/projects, administer snack, play with/read to, take strolls, hold and sooth, sing over, and teach bible stories, VALUE of the day, and lesson material. Lead numerous spiritual components using the provided curriculum, by preparing ahead of time.

DRAGONFLIES (Pre School | 4’s and early 5’s)

Team Member Characteristics: Caring, mobile, teacher, fun loving personality
Team Member Description: Engage parents with a warm welcome and caring environment. Using the provided curriculum: Care for each child’s spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. Pray for children, assist with restroom breaks, facilitate safe play time/activities/projects, administer snack, play with/read to, and teach bible stories, VALUE of the day, and lesson material. Lead numerous spiritual components using the provided curriculum, by preparing ahead of time. Provide for the safety of each child as you transition from one classroom to our Theater and back.

Elementary Team

Role #1: COACH

(Active lab coach – small group class leader of a specific grade)
Prepare to lead your grade’s Active Lab on your scheduled Sunday by learning the provided curriculum in advance
Communicate with your scheduled “Assistants” before your scheduled Sunday to discuss their delegated responsibilities
Lead your Active Lab – small group – with quality, passion, and relevant creativity…using your assistant team
Lead relationally by getting to know your children. Learn names, write them cards, send them mail, attend their games, etc, etc
Complete our gsKidz online, Coaches form once a month (simple form)
Attend all trainings, meetings, view online videos and resources, and all other equipping opportunities our gsKidz office provides

Role #2: ASSISTANT

(Active lab assistant – small group class support for a specific grade)
Prepare to assist your grade’s Active Lab Coach on your scheduled Sunday by learning the provided curriculum in advance
Communicate with your scheduled “Coach” before your scheduled Sunday to discuss your delegated responsibilities
Lead relationally by getting to know your children. Learn names, write them cards, send them mail, attend their games, etc, etc
Assist through table top lessons, activities, projects, hands on paper work, setting up supplies/materials, providing restroom breaks, etc
Attend all trainings, meetings, view online videos and resources, and all other equipping opportunities our gsKidz office provides

Role #3: HOSPITALITY (CHECK IN)

(First Impressions, Greeter, Computer Operator for child check in)
Complete a 2 week, on the job, training of our gsKidz safety policy and procedures, as well as, our Fellowship One computer software used for “Check In”

Be the first impression of gsKidz. Warm greeting, friendly smile, help comfort children with separation anxiety, provide direction, answer questions, give tours, and additional areas of hospitality
Assist new families with a safe and comfortable environment. Help them complete our guest forms and get acquainted with our program
Assist regular members with routine check in, key fabs, database updates, etc
Provide additional administrative duties pertaining to our Check In Station, paperwork, database, organization, computer maintenance, etc
Attend all trainings, meetings, view online videos and resources, and all other equipping opportunities our gsKidz office provides

Role #4: SUBSTITUTE

(Active lab substitute – small group class for a specific grade)
Be willing to be placed on our “On Call” Substitute team member list and serve in various ages/grade levels dependant upon the need
Comply with both Coach, and Assistant roles and responsibilties (See above)
Attend all trainings, meetings, view online videos and resources, and all other equipping opportunities our gsKidz office provides

KINDERGARTEN

Team Member Characteristics: Gentle personality, fun loving, patient, articulate
Team Member Description: Provide a warm welcome to all children promoting a super relational environment between you and their peers. Gently and tactfully handle this grade level as they will talk, share stories, ask many questions, and ‘fight’ for your attention. Assist with the difficult culture shift between Pre School to Kids Church

Duties During Large Group: Help each Kindergartener stay engaged during our “Large Group” time, personally participate in Large Group activities, theme days, be enthusiastic, and assist our Connection Speaker (large group) and MC

Duties During Kindergarten Active Lab: Facilitate restroom breaks, prepare in advance the Kindergarten portion of curriculum, effectively teach and administer all “Active Lab” projects and activities according to the curriculum. Lead prayer times and record prayer request. Take special interest in your children by writing them letters, making cards, awarding ‘token’ prizes, etc. *Ownership is valued!

1ST GRADE

Team Member Characteristics: Gentle personality, fun loving, compassionate, leader
Team Member Description: Provide a warm welcome to all children promoting a super relational environment between you and their peers. Gently and tactfully handle this grade level as they will talk, share stories, ask many questions, and ‘fight’ for your attention.

Duties During Large Group: Help each 1st grader stay engaged during our “Large Group” time, personally participate in Large Group activities, theme days, be enthusiastic, and assist our Connection Speaker (large group) and MC

Duties During 1st Grade Active Lab: Facilitate restroom breaks, prepare in advance the 1st grade portion of curriculum, effectively teach and administer all “Active Lab” projects and activities according to the curriculum. Lead prayer times and record prayer request. Take special interest in your children by writing them letters, making cards, awarding ‘token’ prizes, etc. *Ownership is valued!

2ND GRADE

Team Member Characteristics: Outgoing personality, gentle voice, caring, teacher
Team Member Description: Provide a warm welcome to all children promoting a super relational environment between you and their peers. Build relationships through meaningful conversations and follow up

Duties During Large Group: Help each 2nd grader stay engaged during our “Large Group” time, personally participate in Large Group activities, theme days, be enthusiastic, and assist our Connection Speaker (large group) and MC

Duties During 2nd Grade Active Lab: Facilitate restroom breaks, prepare in advance the 2nd grade portion of curriculum, effectively teach and administer all “Active Lab” projects and activities according to the curriculum. Lead prayer times and record prayer request. Take special interest in your children by writing them letters, making cards, awarding ‘token’ prizes, etc. *Ownership is valued!

3RD GRADE

Team Member Characteristics: Outgoing personality, energetic, loving, good listener
Team Member Description: Provide a warm welcome to all children promoting a super relational environment between you and their peers. This grade level offers a variety of maturity levels both personally and spiritually. Offering a fun and ‘safe’ place to play and talk ‘life’ is critical to 3rd grade ministry.

Duties During Large Group: Help each 3rd grader stay engaged during our “Large Group” time, personally participate in Large Group activities, theme days, be enthusiastic, and assist our Connection Speaker (large group) and MC

Duties During 3rd Grade Active Lab: Facilitate restroom breaks, prepare in advance the 3rd grade portion of curriculum, effectively teach and administer all “Active Lab” projects and activities according to the curriculum. Lead prayer times and record prayer request. Take special interest in your children by writing them letters, making cards, awarding ‘token’ prizes, etc. *Ownership is valued!

4TH GRADE

Team Member Characteristics: Relational personality, mobile, fun loving, tuff skin
Team Member Description: Provide a warm welcome to all children promoting a super relational environment between you and their peers. This grade level can be challenging for someone who is not a ‘people person’. This grade NEEDS relational ministry and a strong leader who will lead influentially.

Duties During Large Group: Help each 4th grader stay engaged during our “Large Group” time, personally participate in Large Group activities, theme days, be enthusiastic, and assist our Connection Speaker (large group) and MC

Duties During 4th Grade Active Lab: Facilitate restroom breaks, prepare in advance the 4th grade portion of curriculum, effectively teach and administer all “Active Lab” projects and activities according to the curriculum. Lead prayer times and record prayer request. Take special interest in your children by writing them letters, making cards, awarding ‘token’ prizes, etc. *Ownership is valued!

5TH GRADE

Team Member Characteristics: Strong leader, relational, biblically knowledgeable, relevant
Team Member Description: Provide a warm welcome to all children promoting a super relational environment between you and their peers. This grade often feels stuck between elementary and middle school. Often feeling too old for ‘kid stuff’ yet emotionally and maturity hasn’t transitioned older. You will need ‘tuff skin’ and firm boundaries as they will push you, the rules, even your teachings. In saying this…this grade is very important to reach with the word of God as their worldview, morals, and experiences will drastically change and be challenged upon entering 6th grade.

Duties During Large Group: Help each 5th grader stay engaged during our “Large Group” time, personally participate in Large Group activities, theme days, be enthusiastic, and assist our Connection Speaker (large group) and MC

Duties During 5th Grade Active Lab: Facilitate restroom breaks, prepare in advance the 5th grade portion of curriculum, effectively teach and administer all “Active Lab” projects and activities according to the curriculum. Lead prayer times and record prayer request. Take special interest in your children by writing them letters, making cards, awarding ‘token’ prizes, etc. *Ownership is valued!

gsKidz Early Childhood Culture

Our culture provides quality physical, emotional, social, and spiritual care for every infant – preschooler. Facilitating a warm, safe, and fun loving atmosphere that is relevant and relational. A place where the bible comes to life and can be learned through various learning styles and methods. Teaching biblical morals through Christ centered lessons and repetition. Providing a level of comfort and trust that parents will be pleased with and have confidence in.

gsKidz Elementary Culture

Our culture is relevant and relational. Interactive and participatory. Large Group drives the lesson, while small group drives the discussion. A place where the bible is experienced through creative and quality methods. Making scripture applicable for life as a child. Partnering with parents. Assisting each child grow in their relationship with God and knowledge of His Word. Facilitating an environment of unity, trust, safety, and communication is important as we care for every child’s well being.

ALL gsKidz MINISTRY PARTNER APPLICANTS MUST COMPLETE A FAMILY LIFE APPLICATION AND BACKGROUND CHECK FORM BEFORE ACCEPTANCE. *Some individuals may need to complete Gracespring Experience, specific training, interview, etc – before working with children 18years of age or younger
