I am in a super bad spot financially for the first time in my life. I am in my last semester at WMU, only taking one class and completing my internship to obtain my BSW this December. I had to borrow 500 dollars from my grandparents. I had to borrow this money do to unknown moving fees. I moved into an apartment on the 5th of August, Two weeks before move in we were told , for the first time, that we owed first months rent, security deposit, and a one time cleaning fee. I was notified a week ago that my security deposit check and my September rent check was bounced. I have never bounced a check in my life up until this point. I have been able to come up with 600 dollars towards my housing fees, but I still owe $632.50 by the first of October. In addition to this rent debt, I still owe my grandparents $500 and $888 in tuition. I have no idea how I am going to cover these bills, and that doesn't include groceries or internet or electric and gas bills. I am financially supporting my boyfriends 3 year old daughter, and 4 year old son, whom he has joint custody over with his ex-wife. This financial crisis is only until I get my degree. I am working at my unpaid internship through Western Michigan University Tuesday - Friday 9am - 3pm, and I am waiting tables 20 hours a week at least, sometimes more, sometimes less. I have been putting all of my pay checks towards what I owe, but I am still super struggling with making ends meet.
