Mission Trips
Every Summer, Ignite partners with both local organizations and global missionaries in order to fulfill our longing to engage culture. In their quest to love others, our high school students have traveled everywhere from the busy streets of Washington DC to the impoverished jungles of Peru.
Check out this year's trips!
Nicaragua | 2012
When: August 3 - 10, 2012
Who: Current high school AND college students
Where: A village near Managua, Nicaragua
Led by: Pastor Rob Cook and Pastor Jason Stiger
Cost: $1,800.00
How many? 18 (plus Pastors Rob and Jason)
What we will be doing:
We will be traveling into a small village in Nicaragua to serve two lo-cal churches and work specifically with some special needs students. We are beginning a partnership with an organization called World Orphans where we will have a relational connection between our church and two churches in Nicaragua. We will be working with Mike Krick, a mission-ary from Michigan, as well as a few key World Orphan leaders who live in Managua.
This trip will be almost entirely relational and completely fo-cused on serving the people through spending time with them. There are no work projects planned, but we will serve in whatever areas they need help. We will have the opportunity to worship with them in their style and tradition on Sunday.
Pittsburgh | 2012
When: August 5 - 11, 2012
Who: Current high school students OR families desiring to serve together
Where: Pittsburgh, PA
Led by: TBD
Cost: $500.00 for students
$370/person for families. How many? The more the merrier!
What will we be doing?
Our teams will complete various projects of light to medium home repair. Students (and families) are supplemented with knowledgeable staff and volunteers from around the country. The message of God's transforming love is a theme throughout the week as you learn and serve vulnerable homeowners. From morning Bible studies to evening sessions with service packed in between, you will be tired…and blessed by this opportunity.
