My Neighbor, God’s Nations
These are a series of classes, exercises, and practical events (some in person, others online, or both) that help us to “move off the couch” and to run the race set before us (or if we are off the couch, to burst through fences that may be keeping us from our neighbors like and unlike us)! While we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will practice moving from an inward-focused, self-improvement comfort zone to the best “run” ever! God’s plan has always been that “His way may be known on earth and His saving power among all nations” (Psalm 67:2).
We want to be a part of sharing God’s love and generosity toward “EACH WHOEVER” that they would not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
We want our attitude and actions to be that of John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the WORLD might be saved THROUGH HIM!”
Let the peoples praise Him; let all the peoples praise Him. (Psalm 67: 3)
Why run the race? We are called to do so–it implies moving. It is a privilege!
Are we equipped? We are God’s temple and His Spirit dwells in us. We are mobile. We are His church and His Witnesses. All power has been given to us!
Are we willing to run a “race”? This implies moving from a start point and understanding that we are sent out as lambs into wolves and weariness will occur. Sometimes starting benefits from training and encouragement!
Are all races alike? Each race may be differently shaped (not all individuals are alike) BUT having training will practically improve our “running” whether it is cooking for others, sharing with others, helping others, giving to others, praying as a warrior, being the church, etc. (I believe the “building an arc” race was already run by Noah.)
What if…? We want to encourage each other’s outward directed, mental focus. We want to help each of us recognize our own baggage that slows us down, changes our course.
