gsWomen’s Cabin Fever – Winter Warm Up!
Friday, February 21 from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. (use circle drive entrance)
The Winter Warm Up is an opportunity to brighten the hospital stays of our youngest area hospital patients by providing warm and brightly colored, fleece tie-blankets to brighten otherwise stark cool hospital rooms. All you need to bring is a heart willing to help, hands willing to cut or tie, and a snack to share. Whether you attend or not, you can HELP by SPONSORING a blanket for just $10 HERE. We have a limited supply of fabric scissors so please bring your own if you have them. We’ll gather at 6:30 to share snacks and beverages and get a quick tutorial on “blanket making” before we set up groups and get to work! Hope you can join us for a social night of serving our community! *Special thanks to Piecemakers for their help and supplies! Registration is not required for this event. Just show up and join in the fun!
GOD story: Last year for this event the weather forced a cancellation…TWICE. When we finally held the event in late February, there was concern we wouldn’t have anyone show up to help and even if we did, we would never get all the blankets we had prepped done. The day before finally hosting this blanket making event, Bronson posted a plea for help to facebook. They had just given out the very last children’s blanket they had. Seriously! Within 36 hours of their ask, we were able to deliver 30, hand tied, beautiful, fun, brightly colored blankets to restock their shelves along with several also desperately needed layette covers and a dozen or so ribbon blankets for the infants. How cool is our God as he works all things for his good and his Glory! Please Join us!
