We live in a day of uncertainties as we persevere through the Covid-19 Pandemic. Psychologists tell us that our society at large is in a state of trauma as we have lost all sense of normalcy, control, structure, all while trying to be responsible to contend against that constant threat of an invisible enemy, the virus itself. Because of this, many are suffering with anxiety, discouragement, depression, anger, loneliness, and a longing to just ‘return to normal’.
In the midst of these uncertainties, we have the opportunity to shine the light of the gospel in this darkness we are all experiencing. But to get there, we need to address the cries of our hearts, allowing the songs of the Scriptures to give us the priorities and structure we need to gain a renewed sense of HOPE. The world doesn’t need the church to respond as the world responds. The world needs to see the power of the Kingdom of God at work.
