Dan Teich

Dan’s been married to his best friend Joyce for 41 years and they’ve attended gracespring for 3 years. They have 4 kids: Amanda-37, Chris-35, Sarah Jane-32, Ryan-29, and 6 grandkids. Three married children live nearby and two attend gracespring. Ryan is single and lives in Chicagoland. Dan worked as a Product Development Engineer for Whirlpool and retired in 2022. He lives in Richland township and loves spending time with his family. Dan’s an avid swimmer and loves any sporting or leisure activity involving water. He’s also a woodworker and handyman and can normally be found creating, building or fixing anything around the woodshop, house or garage. He loves nature, hiking and astronomy and can spend hours gazing at stars and worshiping God through His amazing creation!

Dan was raised in a family that attended church each week but didn’t realize who God was in his life. When he went to college and had to choose whether or not to continue attending church, Dan heard God's gentle loving voice asking ‘Are you serious about your faith in me?’ Dan responded with a firm ‘Yes I am’! From that moment, the Lord blessed Dan with a deep desire to study and absorb His word and to be more like Christ in all areas of his life. Dan’s life approach of using people for his own good and attaining worldly success at all costs was replaced with a genuine love for people and the realization that each person is loved infinitely by God. The Lord also revealed that all Dan has or accomplishes are gifts to be used for God’s glory. Through God’s grace, Dan tries to incorporate these truths into his life.

Dan has served in or led Music ministry, Sunday school teaching for kids, Prison ministry with hardened criminals, Christian discipleship training for lay people and Marriage ministry.

Dan now serves in gsKids as a 2nd grade teacher, co-facilitates a Small Community Group and serves at Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries. Dan’s ministry focus is to mentor people in practical ways to love and serve the Lord in our everyday lives with the gifts and talents He’s given each of us.

As a gracespring Elder, Dan can offer a solid perspective of working in and demonstrating Christ’s love as an active Christian in a large non-Christian corporate setting and applying that experience to serving in a church wide role.
