Ryan has been married to his best friend Alissa for 12 years. They have two children, Elias (9) and Maeve (6). Alissa has been attending gracespring since she was a pre-teen, and Ryan has been attending since their second date in 2009. Ryan and Alissa were married in the main auditorium in 2012, had their reception in the concourse, and have dedicated both of their children in the church over their years of attending.

Ryan accepted Christ as his savior when he was ten years old during vacation bible school. In the following years he would participate in youth group, go on a mission trip to Brazil, and attend summer camp where, when he was 17, he re-dedicated his life to the Lord. After high school, he attended the Word of Life Bible Institute in up-state New York before continuing his studies closer to home at Western Michigan University.

Ryan is currently a Procurement Buyer at the Kellanova (Kellogg) company in Battle Creek, where he has worked for the last 12 years. He holds an MBA in Supply Chain Management and strives to strike the right balance between work and his focus on his family. Ryan has volunteered in roles on the drama team, the security team, and the finance team at gracespring, and enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, and woodworking.
