#1: Summer of Intentionality

Aired:

Host:
Pastor Kenneth Price
Guests:

We are looking at the summer of 2022, assessing our rhythms, and looking to address areas where we made need to press the 'pause' button. Where we need to stop and say, "Jesus, I need you in this space." This podcast is a call to the heart of our people to say "how can we be more intentional?" It's through rhythms and practices that we want to encourage you to follow Jesus's heart in a way you haven't before. And ultimately to live a more intentional and Christ-filled life.

Moments To Remember

  • "We are all constantly be formed by something...we have an opportunity every single day to be made into the image of the things we are closest to...we believe that we have a mandate as believers to be formed into the image of Christ."
  • "We love to accept as our Savior, but we have a hard time making Him our Lord." [referring to words A.W. Tozer]
  • "We believe that every Christian is a disciple."
  • "Taking the normal rhythms or your life and disrupting those rhythms and placing yourself square in the rhythms that God has called you to."
  • "We have an opportunity to turn our hearts and minds away from the brokenness of world. To turn our hearts and minds to Jesus. To walk in his footsteps, to love the things He loved, to love the people that He loved. To be formed in His image and then to turn back to the world with that love and that healing and that kindness in our hearts and pour that out into the world around us."

Resources

scripture

  • "11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherdsand teachers,12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love." -Ephesians 4:11-16
  • Reference to Genesis 1:1, God's forming of the world through His word

QUOTES

  • "In the New Testament salvation and discipleship are so closely related as to be indivisible. They are not identical, but as with Siamese twins they are joined by a tie which can be severed only at the price of death. Yet they are being severed in evangelical circles today. In the working creed of the average Christian salvation is held to be immediate and automatic, while discipleship is thought to be something optional which the Christian may delay indefinitely or never accept at all." -A.W. Tozer
