Jim and his wife Brenda each grew up in Michigan, but on opposite sides of the state. They met while students at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and were married in 1993. For the past 30 years, they have lived in Northeast Ohio where Jim has served as a worship pastor and executive pastor. The Mitchells have three sons: Drew (1998) got married to Merlayna in September of ’21 and they live in Canton, OH. Lane (2000) is a student at Kent State University and is engaged to be married in October of ‘22 to Rachel. Trent (2004) will be moving to Richland with mom and dad for his senior year of high school. Outside of ministry time, Jim enjoys hunting & fishing, hiking, biking, and backpacking. Brenda is an avid life-long learner and researcher. She excels as a bible teacher and curriculum developer. She also keeps bees and chickens and gardens. Together, the Mitchells enjoy travel, camping, hiking, games, and reading good books aloud.
